Top Ten Episode 2: Picture Perfect

Top Ten..
1. He / She keeps looking at his / her cellphone.. Your date is probably texting another one. Or perhaps he/she is conjuring up a plan to have someone call you for an emergency - thus, the sweet escape.
2. He / she keeps staring at other guys / girls. Trying to spot an alternative. He / she may have wasted his / her time on you, but once he / she got an eye on an interesting one, then going on a date with you isn't really a waste of time after all..
3. He / she will never look straight into your eyes. Random, wordless eye-to-eye contact will never happen. He / she maybe looking straight into your eyes while you are in a conversation, but that's just it. Out of courtesy.
4. He / she will never be hungry. He / she will never be interested in any possible activity you wanted to do (not unless he / she's horny). In short, he / she will disguise himself / herself as the epitome of the most boring person you will ever meet.
5. He / she listens to his / her mp3 player at all times possible. He / she will only remove his / her earphones once you start speaking, and will put back the headphones once your done with your conversation.
6. He / she will always have short answers. Will never expound into any topic you open. Will never share anything about himself / herself. Will be the disguised listener who pretends to listen but at the his / her mind is never interested in whatever you have to say.
7. He / she will never walk close to you. This is to show others that you are not on a date with him / her, or at most, you don't know him / her. Playing safe for other possible targets is simply their game.
8. He / she will always look at his / her watch. Will always ask what time is it. Will always be curious about the time. If he or she has been asking you the time for a couple of times 15-30 minutes after you met, then you should know...
9. He / she will have the best lame excuses just to finish your date. May it be true or not. May it be something about his / her family, something from his / her job, his / her friends. He / she just wants to finish your date.
10. And finally, he / she will disappear like a someone you have never met. Will never get a message from him / her. Will never contact you. Will think and live-up like the date never happened or perhaps he / she had never made contact with you.

WOW!
And me, being a previous member and a social networking fan, did sign up. And as soon as I had finished my profile, I did what everybody in the site was doing, I socialized. So, I started going through people - their pictures and their profiles. And if they are interesting, physically, socially, emotionally and everything-in between-wise, I'd do the click and add them as my friend.
There was this one guy who I guess stood out among the people I added up. On top of the visual pleasure, what he had in his profile was very much cool. It wasn't nicely written, although thoughts were coherently made avaiable to those made time reading profile's first. I guess the genuine content of his profile was a plus factor too. So I made the "click" and added him up..
A few minutes, or a few hours after, he approved my invite. And he left a comment as well..
"hehe natuwa ako sa profile mu ahh.. sayang parehas taung mahiyain...ala lang.. natuwa lang ako..thanks 4 d'invite/.fellow loner.."
Yes. He the shy type. I am a shy type. The silent one. Someone who listens more than talking. And a loner. And if I were to find a twin in those aspects, he'd certainly be the perfect one.
I admit, I liked him. And so to get to know him... And reach out... And become a little more sociable and less a loner, I sent him a message, a message that just doesn't say "hi" or "hello", "musta" or even "how's life?"
"has it always been fun being a loner?"
It was my opening line which started a short but rather great conversation. Something more than an exchange of ASLs, numbers and IM handles.. Way different than talks about sexual preferences, experiences and positions... And something more than "ok" "oic" and :) as replies... It was all about what we are, the fellow loners..
Until he said that he didn't regret that being a loner for he found someone.. his someone... and they have been together for six and a half years... with another loner...
"cguro sa pagiging loner ko di ako nahirapan na maattach sa isang loner guy din.. "
...
"wow... six and a half years... wow... nice.. that's nice... "
"you may be a loner.. but a lucky guy.. "
At that moment, I had defined the word "WOW" as a heart-breaking, deeply saddening ouch!
(You should have remembered that he wasn't looking for a partner. He clearly stated that in his profile, dumbass!)
The conversation didn't go that long, for I was getting late for the concert. (Damn, concerts are now starting on time!) I logged out of the site and turned of the pc, took a shower, got dressed up and hoped that the David's would bring back the original meaning of the word wow..
I just opened his account today and saw a newly posted picture.. him and someone else (I assume his partner) kissing...
WOW!

Memories in Detention
After the lifehouse concert, (I'm not gonna brag about how cute Jason Wade is, its just that the concert rocked! Weee. I partly lost my voice. Yeah! Lifehouse rocks.) my friend went home. I accompanied her on the way home. We took a taxi and I dropped her off at Boni. Aba humirit, dapat daw may dagdag trenta. Ano yun parang kumuha uli me ng bagong taxi?
Papunta akong Malate nun.
Since I was a call center agent - customer service support, it is very rarely that you get a Saturday night off. You would either need to file for VL, perhaps go on an SL or to have a regular Saturday night off, you need to brag about how good your metrics and fight for it everytime a shift bid happens. If your metrics are bad and down, then forget about the good stuff (the weekend offs). It was a blue moon for me. It was the change of schedules - transition. And lucky for me, there was a Saturday night off for us - a chance, a SINGLE Saturday night. Chance to visit Malate. I invited a couple of friends. Sent them messages. Most of them declined. But my bestfriend didn't. So did a long lost friend that I met sometime 2005 in Yahoo chatrooms (I bet you've been there too). So we did set the time. And agreed to be there.
As hours passed I became more excited. It was my treat. It was a night for me. So we met, the three of us. We walked and walked towards Remedios and decided to try to out a club named FAB (that was the time when Fabuloush was still at its peak). We stopped in front, checked out the prices and then said "We'll come back." As we were walking back to Orosa, my bestfried said that he needed to go home. Cause he was tired. I understood that. Cause before that he was already saying that if he got tired, I would let go of him and he can go home. I was very clear about that, he just have to tell me.
Nagpaalam sya at umalis. Bago sya umalis sinabi nya na kaya daw sya aalis eh dahil may kausap syang guy kung saan eh makikipagkita sya. Bigla akong nainis. Sobra.
So took a couple of drinks. Smoked a couple of sticks. And went out. There was not much people in the club. We walked and went to Fluid (for all I know, this was a straight bar. and became a gay bar ever since the closure of NYC). Was surprised that NYC has changed to the Rainbow Project. Was a big NYC tambay before but now, I dared not to go to Rainbow Project. It just seemed different. Bed's still there. Ha ha.
So we went to Fluid. I paid for the entrance. And the night started. The music. The beer. The smoke. We spent most of the time there. We danced. We watched. We hunted. We enjoy. Tried to forget about what happened. Did it thru beer. So the hours passed. We danced the night away. And I got drunk. Was almost four when we got out of the bar.
Sakit na ng ulo ko nun. Sobra. Nung matapos syang kumain, may dumating.
Two of his friends came. Fresh from Bed. They talked. I was introduced. And they talked more. I didn't seem to care. My head was aching. They kept talked. And they invited him to go to Bed. He wanted to go. And since he can't leave me alone, he made me stand up, dragged me, and we walked towards Bed. His friend was holding CC's hand, and CC was hold me. Dragging me. I can't stop him. Felt so tired. And so drunk. When we got to the entrance, the guy who was checking wrists for stamps tried to look for mine. But I guess he realized that I was too drunk to show it. And besides, I don't even have one. But then they let me and CC in.
When we got it. I'm surprised. The bar is still packed. It's my first time to come in that bar. Normally, by 4 am, people in Malate start to go home. But in Bed, people dance there like there's no tomorrow. People doesn't seem to look at their watches. They just dance the night away until everybody tires out.
I felt it was coming out. Anti-peristaltic movement, that is. So I told CC "Where's the CR. I need the CR." He asked his friend where the CR is. It was on the second floor. So we went up. Got dragged again. Said excuse me a couple of times. Didn't matter who I bumped with. Never got the chance to say sorry to some people I bumped to. My mind was just looking for the CR.
At ayun.
At nagkakariran.
It was the end of the night. And the end of my Malate days.
Ayun. Muling nabuhay ang nightlife ko.
Not too bad for someone coming back to Malate. A lot has changed. But the memories are still there.
It was the night of "Detention"
After that incident.

Back to the First Time, Revivals and all things new... (2nd part)
ok. i'm here at work and i've got nothing to do. and what better way to use my time is to write another post. apart from ipod tripping. reading an inspirational book and waiting for my team mates to say, "sup call" (which i would blatantly say "sup call na naman? what's the issue?" - although it's their first escalated call for the day), i manage to write my thoughts and keep it away from everybody (a big thank you to the pe--- ooops... support mode** ---and then i'm back ---ople who created "alt-tab" and "lock computer")..
enough for the introductions... i feel obliged to continue what i initially started... (OMG! see... i haven't been writing for so long, just finished an escalated call... argh!). and so it was a sunday. i was with my bestfriend. walking. talking. staring. and basically doing nothing. and then i decided, "let me spam your cell phones!" - group message, indeed. the uber-over-super-duper-mega-used "musta na?" (although i don't consider this spam, coz what's spam for me are quotes... i just felt like i sent spam!).. swooosh... my crush just passed by...
moving on... (*15-minute break*) ok. they replied. with uber-over-super-duper-mega-used "ok lang, kaw?" one number replied differently. "we're here in starbux araneta. wanna come?" with my nightlife (and what i mean is my "social" nightlife, not the "career-inclined" nightlife) almost centimeters away from the grave, i didn't have any hesitations (in short, "go na"). they (a guy i met in g4m, and one of his friends) were in starbucks araneta and had plans to go somewhere after the coffee break. i told them i'll be there and wait for me. time passed. fast forward. we finally met (imma call this guy JW). said hi. and i was introduced to his friend (imma call this guy DV). we walked and took a cab....
i asked where a we going? DV answered... "Fahrenheit." at the back of my mind i said, "i've heard of this place. there's even a thread created for this 'bar'..." and so we let the cab drove its way through e. rod, until DV asked manong to stop.
"andito na tayo?"
"uu"
"e asan ung fahrenheit?"
"ayan oh" they pointed to a warehouse looking building.
"ah ok, wala man lang banner para sabihing fahrenheit to?"
and then we made our way through the cars... stepped up a couple of levels, passed by the baggage counter... in no time, we, JW and me are handing out valid IDs for membership and registration...
to be continued...

Back to the First Time, Revivals and all things new...
The Saturday morning, after 20 years, I finally got to watch a movie - again, on the silverscreen. Ha ha. I was with this guy I met in G4M, I invited him to meet.. in Megamall.. and watch a movie.
This was the movie we watched. Sizzling hot Angelina Jolie and cute James McAvoy in "Wanted." One cool movie. Imagine drawing out bullets from miles away, yet hitting the x mark. Cool. Real cool. One thing, when we were looking for movies to watch, I noticed that this was only R-13. Then I thought, after watching the movie, this should be R-18. With visuals to explicit for children (remember that they showed how the bullet pierced whoevers head got through?).Anyways, let's leave Saturday alone. He he. Then Sunday came (of course!). Stayed at home up until I sms'd my "bi-bestfriend" (and I quote-unquote this... he has a straight bestfriend... I have an office bestfriend...) asking if he was free that afternoon. The "kaladkarin" person in him (and me too.. no wonder we are best of friends...) made us meet in Trinoma. We walked... and walked... and walked... Bought a pair of havs (whoooosh! All Flip Flops should have a large exhaust fan!) and listened to people cheer about Agent Zero... (who the hell is Agent Zero? I'm not a basketball fan, eh!)
to be cotinued...
